G4S Forensic and Medical Services (UK) Ltd. is the most innovative, comprehensive and quality-driven organisation providing medical and clinical forensic services to the Police in England. The company was formed in May 2004 to provide a bid to a four county consortium tender process. In February 2005 we signed contracts with Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk police forces, with Cambridgeshire joining the four county consortium at the beginning of 2006.

G4S are now one of the largest providers of forensic and medical services to Police Forces in England and Wales. Adding Gloucestershire and Wiltshire to our portfolio in December 2006, Norfolk in July 2007 and Hampshire in October 2008. G4S now provide full healthcare cover for eleven Police Forces.

The service we are providing the Police Authorities is revolutionary, as we are providing each authority with dedicated Health Care Professionals and direct access to a senior Forensic Medical Examiners 24 hours a day that can triage networked services to help in speeding up the processing of detainees. This system has already proven highly effective, and all authorities have praised this vastly improved service through the introduction of a committed workforce and a reduced burden of workload.
